Press Statement - Blackwattle Yarns Original Colourways come to Eden Hills, South Australia !
Oct 1st 2025

After having made the very difficult decision to step away from her hand-dyed yarn business, Angela Smith ( proprietor of Blackwattle Yarns, Murrumbateman NSW ) has handed over responsibility of her hard earned collection of recipes to The House Dye's Jamo ( Mark Jamieson ). "The House Dye" is the in-house hand-dyed yarn range produced for the Skein Machine Yarn Store ( Eden Hills, Adelaide Australia ). Angela and her team developed and honed their yarn dying skills over the last decade, producing an iconic brand that has become widely loved and wholeheartedly adopted by the Australian fibre arts community as well as being enthusiastically exported around the globe.
It is a great honor to be able to continue to produce these wonderful colorways and to have been trained in person by Angela in the methods and skills required to accurately and efficiently reproduce these lovely recipes. We are excited to get started on this new journey and look forward to being able to bring these colors to life on some familiar yarn bases and some entirely new ones. ( Mark "Jamo" Jamieson ).
As of October 1st, our offering of "Blackwattle Original Colours" is limited as we have only just begun production of these new colourways. However you can stay informed on "stock updates" by joining the Skein Machine Yarn Store "Newsletter", and by visiting the official "House Dye - Blackwattle" STOCK PAGE.
