FULL ON FAIR ISLE with Pru Raymond
Time: 12:30PM to 3:30PM
Location: Skein Machine Yarn Store
3/276 Shepherds Hill Rd, Eden Hills, Adelaide, 5050
Get full on with Fair Isle in this intensive workshop with Pru
Raymond. Learn to slice your knitting open like a pro, and
add bands and cuffs. Develop techniques to make your
colourwork stitches pop, and your floats so beautiful, you’ll
want to wear your sweaters inside out. You will leave with
a new level of confidence to knit any Fair Isle / stranded
colourwork pattern.
Students Should Bring
- 4 mm circular knitting needle with 80cm circumference or DPNs
- 2 x 50 balls/cakes of 8ply/DK non-superwash wool yarn in solid/ semi solid colours: one in a very light (or white) and the other in a medium to dark colour.
- Notions: wool needle, stitch markers, scissors.
This class is designed for knitters to improve and extend their stranded colourwork
skills to include better yarn management strategies, consistent colour dominance,
catching floats (how, why and when), and steeking (‘unfinished’ method).
