BEGINNERS NEEDLE FELTING - BY TANGLETWINE FIBRE (16yo+)

Learn how to tangle wool fleece using a barbed needle to create sculptures using the "Needle Felting" technique. Louise will teach you the basics and the only limit is your imagination !

You will be guided by our expert teacher to create these super cute felted gnome characters.   No experience required, this is an absolute beginners class, however the lesson will involve the manipulation of fiber using sharp needles.  Protective equipment is used to protect your fingers however having fine motor skills and coordination will be an advantage.

REQUIREMENTS:

KITS AVAILABLE FROM TANGLETWINE ON THE DAY

  • KIT INCLUDES EVERYTHING REQUIRED FOR THE CLASS.  The KIT is provided to students to use during the class and you have the option to purchase the kit and take it home with you at the end of the class for ( $60 ). It is not compulsory to purchase the kit.
  • Printed set of instructions

OR BUILD YOUR OWN KIT (ensure it includes the following)

  • SMALL wool pad 
  • Needle-felting punch with 3 needles
  • Wooden needle holder x1 dark blue to match Needle size
  • 3 x 38 star needles 
  • 2 x leather finger protectors
  • Core wool - natural 50gm 
  • Coloured Needle-felting wool ( ie Corriedale Slivers in chosen colours including grey for beards of Gnomes )

(NOTE: Courses are for 14yo+ unless otherwise specified, not all trainers are experienced/comfortable working with children. There are also government compliance checks WWCC required for trainers who do work with children, only trainers who have valid WWCC checks are permitted to teach children under the age of 14 years.).
