KNITTING WITH ROVINGS WORKSHOP - with Kathy Baschiera
"ROVINGS: are long, continuous strands of wool fibers that haven't yet been spun into yarn. They are essentially prepared yarn fibres in pre-yarn stage"
Time: 12:30PM to 3:30PM
Location: Skein Machine Yarn Store, 3/276 Shepherds Hill Rd, Eden Hills, Adelaide, 5050
WORKSHOP:
The workshop will consist of a discussion about knitting with rovings, why certain ones work well and others do not.
YOU WILL LEARN:
* How to divide your rovings into strands that are suitable for knitting.
* How to join and hide ends
* How to deal with thick and thin sections of roving
* Choose suitable patterns and techniques
And of course the most important bit casting on and knitting a beanie, scarf or cowl.
This can be the participants choice.
STUDENTS TO BRING:
* At least one Kathys Fibres roving, (maybe more depending upon the project choice)
* 6mm circular or straight needles
Knitting with rovings produces a chunky and very squishy and warm beanie ♥
Its a very fun workshop allowing you to explore yet another creative way to use wool fiber for your creative projects !
