Ripples Shawl Pattern - Download
This is a downloadable pattern. You will get an instant download following payment.
This is a shawl created using a series of lace stiches and normal knit stitches to create a wonderful pattern. The finished look has a fantastic drape.
The yarn I used in the shawl pictured was Rusty Yarns, an indipendant South Australian Dyer, Merino 8ply hand dyed yarn (100% Superwash Australian Merino). The colour was specially made for the shawl, Tea for Two. Check out our yarn store for this and other colours and yarns (subject to availability).
Pattern: The pattern has information, general instruction on colour choice and even if you want to change the shape of the shawl. This is a written instruction pattern. I started at the long end of the shawl (the pattern shape needs it). This means that when you are at the most enthusiastic you do the longest rows.
Stitches:
- Knit
- Purl
- Yarn Overs
- Knit Together
- Pass Overs
- Cast on
- Cast off
Materials: You need approximately 700g of yarn in total. I used 8ply / DK yarn for this project. You can use any yarn but it will alter the size and the amount of yarn used. I used a 5.5mm circular needle, 120cm. Reason for such a large needle on 8ply yarn was to open up the lace effect.
